Vote NO Cobb MSPLOST

On the November 5, 2024 General Election Ballot, voters in Cobb County will decide whether to pass Lisa Cupid’s proposed 30-year Mobility SPLOST (MSPLOST) which would fund additional buses and transit services for Cobb County.

• This MSPLOST would raise the sales tax in Cobb County from six cents to seven cents on every dollar, which is a 17% increase in sales taxes.
• The tax increase would last for 30 years raising more than $11 Billion from sales taxes in Cobb County.
• This 30-year sales tax CANNOT be rescinded during that period.
• MSPLOST would fund additional buses and bus lanes at a time when Cobb Linc buses are already underutilized (MDJ Feb 10/11, 2024).
• Passage of MSPLOST could cause harm to the continuation of the popular Education SPLOST which provides important capital improvements for our schools with a transparent project list and a short duration (3-5 years).
• Passage of MSPLOST could cause harm to the continuation of the General-Purpose SPLOST which funds important capital improvements for road maintenance, traffic reduction, law enforcement & public safety improvements, and parks & recreation which benefit the quality of life for the residents of Cobb County and has a transparent project list with a short duration (3-5 years).
